Author Biography - Joseph Farrell

Joseph Farrell is Professor of Classical Studies at theUniversity of Pennsylvania. He is the author of several books andpapers on Latin literature, including Vergil s Georgicsand the Traditions of Ancient Epic (1991), Latin Languageand Latin Culture from Ancient to Modern Times (2001), and theforthcoming Juno s Aeneid: Narrative, Metapoetics,Dissent. Michael C. J. Putnam is MacMillan Professor of Classicsand Professor of Comparative Literature, Emeritus, at BrownUniversity. His works include Maffeo Vegio: Short Epics(2004), Poetic Interplay: Catullus and Horace (2006), andThe Virgilian Tradition: The First Fifteen Hundred Years(with Jan Ziolkowski, 2008)
