Description - Counselling by Robert Manthei
Developing the ideas of his text "Counselling: The Skills of Problem Solving", the author shows how to solve problems as well as define them. Step-by-step instructions show how to work in a planned way to enhance the client's self-understanding and find solutions to problems in the future. This revised edition introduces: a solution-focused model; and material on cross-cultural counselling, ethics, self-evaluation, professionalism, advocacy and mediation, stress and supervision. It maintains a skills-based approach, a stage-by-stage model, examples and exercises.
