David R. Henley, PhD, ATR, is a nationally-recognized authority on child art therapy as well as a professor and former chair of the Creative Arts Therapy programs at The Art Institute of Chicago and Long Island University. He is the author of Exceptional Children, Exceptional Art (Davis Publications, 1992) and Clayworks in Art Therapy (Jessica Kinglsey Publishers, 2002). During his career as an art therapist and educator, he has lectured, taught, and written extensively on many aspects of art therapy. David is also a ceramicist and a mixed media artist.
