DAVID OMISSI is Senior Lecturer in History at the University of Hull. His books include The Sepoy and the Raj: The Indian Army, 1860-1940 and Indian Voices of the Great War: Soldiers' Letter, 1914-1918. - ANDREW THOMPSON is Senior Lecturer in Modern British History the University of Leeds. He is the author of Imperial Britain: The Empire in British Politics, c.1880-1932.
