Description - Just A Girl by Jane Caro

I do not remember when I discovered how my mother died, it seems to be something I always knew, a horror I absorbed through my skin. Determined, passionate, privileged and headstrong, Elizabeth was born into a world where she felt she didn't belong and had to fight to survive. Her mother, Anne Boleyn, was executed by her father Henry VIII. From that moment on, Elizabeth competed with her two half-siblings for love and for Britain's throne. In the gilded corridors of the royal palace, enemies she couldn't see - as well as those bound to her by blood - plotted to destroy her. How do you find the courage to become queen even though you are just a girl?

Book Review: Just A Girl by Jane Caro - Reviewed by (01 Jul 2011)

This is an entertaining book which is set in tudor times. Written in first person, the narrator of this novel is Elizebeth I. As she struggles against those around her, Elizebeth has to survive in this witty and twisted surrounding. She both fears her extended family and father, but yearns for their love and understanding. Reader's will be very fond of this charming Elizebeth I Jane Cargo has created. Just a Girl is a very fun book to read, especially to teenagers. The main events are historically correct as known, so readers will learn while enjoying themselves to a great novel. Jane Cargo has made this book a great retelling of Elizebeth I's story as history has written down.
