Description - Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
Could the boy from her past be the love of her future?
Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn't believe in fashion . . . she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit-more sparkly, more fun, more wild-the better. And life is pretty close to perfect in Lola's world, especially with her hot rocker boyfriend.
That is, until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighorhood and unearth a past of hurt and anguish that Lola thought was long buried.
When talented inventor Cricket steps out from his twin sister's shadow and back into Lola's life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

Book Review: Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins - Reviewed by DLN (04 Mar 2012)
Put simply, this book sparkles.
Lola, our leading lady, is instantly loveable. Her personality, outfits, and the way she carries herself; she’s exactly the type of person I’d love to be friends with. Naturally I couldn’t help but compare her to Anna Oliphant from Anna and the French Kiss. While Lola was no Anna, Anna was definitely no Lola! Her relationship with Cricket was delightfully genuine. Their relationship had the perfect amount of wanting and hope and total awkwardness.
I did tear up few times, but never from sad tears. Lola and the Boy Next Door is such an emotionally driven story. I’m so impressed by how well Stephanie Perkins explored the theme of loneliness, and her ability to express feelings in such a raw and honest way. Lola’s story continued to make me laugh and sob and smile like a sugar-high five-year-old from the first page, all the way to the very last.
