Author Biography - Bidyut Chakrabarty
Bidyut Chakrabarty is a faculty at the Department of Political Science, University of Delhi, India. He has also been Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Head of the Department of Political Science, University of Delhi. He earned his PhD from the London School of Economics and has been associated with teaching and research for more than three decades. He has taught in some of the most prestigious educational institutions such as the London School of Economics; Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta, India; Monash University, Australia; National University of Singapore and Hamburg University, Germany. Dr Chakrabarty has authored three books for SAGE India: Indian Government and Politics (with Rajendra Kumar Pandey, 2008); Modern Indian Political Thought (with Rajendra Kumar Pandey, 2009) and Public Administration in a Globalizing World (with Prakash Chand, 2012). Prakash Chand is a faculty of Political Science at Dyal Singh (E) College, University of Delhi, India. He was awarded a Doctoral Fellowship by ICSSR and a Postdoctoral Research Award by University Grants Commission (UGC). Dr Chand has rich teaching experience of over 14 years and his research papers have appeared in various journals including Indian Social Science Review, Gandhi Marg, Indian Journal of Public Administration, and Urban India and Social Change. His areas of interest and research include public administration and environmental governance in India. He has co-authored a book titled Public Administration in a Globalizing World (with Bidyut Chakrabarty, 2012), published by SAGE.
