Description - Sweet William by Michael Pennington

Michael Pennington has spent over 20,000 hours performing, directing and writing about Shakespeare. In Sweet William he examines the plays in the order of their writing and illuminates them with his own considerable understanding of the theatre then and now. With wonderfully apt quotations from the works, analyses of little-known passages, and reflections on changing acting styles, the result is a Shakespeare masterclass which reflects his own understanding of the man and his work.
