Description - The Box Boy by Mal Webster

A boy loves collecting things, especially cardboard boxes. He makes more and more amazing things from boxes, until his work is noticed by an art gallery director who gives him a big exhibition. He tires of artistic fame though, and goes back home to play with his boxes, until one day he discovers a new collectible, with potential, inside a box -- bubble wrap! AUTHOR: Mal loved drawing from a young age. His school reports often said, 'Mal is a dreamer', as he preferred to gaze out the window and let his imagination drift instead of concentrating in class. His schoolbooks were often filled with plans for creative inventions like the 'Homework Machine'. As a boy, Mal loved collecting boxes...He is yet to grow out of this habit. The Box Boy is Mal's third picture book. SELLING POINTS: * Funky illustration and design * Gentle humour and themes of following your dreams and the power of the imagination * This book is very, very green. The cover and text pages are made from environmentally friendly materials- made from 100% virgin pulp from a sustainable forest.

Book Review: The Box Boy by Mal Webster - Reviewed by (16 Jan 2013)

The Box Boy is a story that most children can relate to. It’s a story about a young boy who is fascinated with boxes, perhaps infatuated is a more precise description. Its basically a story about the power of imagination. My children adored this book, as you give them a toy, they will get bored of it in a few minutes, but the hours of entertainment that can be gained from a box is endless. You can build car boxes, bus boxes, rocket boxes.

The writing flows well and the illustrations are amazing with large bright colourful pictures of boxes in every shape and form.
