Description - Under Deadman's Skin by Jane Katch
Over the course of a year, teacher Jane Katch holds group discussions to determine what kind of play creates or calms turmoil; she illustrates the phenomenon of very young children needing to make scenes of unprecedented violent imagery, and she consults with older boys who know what it's like to be obsessed with violence. Deceptively simple, this is a valuable work in understanding fantasy violence in young children's play.
